Analysis of Magazine

By Zarak Angus Capie-Dilmahomed.
What works well?
One of the things I think that work well on my magazine is the leadline,
this is because I think that it is very catchy and it draws people attention well it does for
me if I walked pass this I would want to pick it up and read it which is something you
need in a leadline.

Another thing I think that works on my front cover is the imagery because we are now
in winter and I think that I have chosen the image well because it shows that its turning
from autumn to winter which is good because then we know that this magazine is
seasonal.

I really like my masthead because I think that it is tells the whole story there and
then, but also it is very catchy and it will just catch your eye.

#I really like my contents page because I think that it really easy to read because of the
way that everything is all in boxes and you can just simply read left to right and not have
to keep reading the page so you can have a clue on what is in the magazine.
What does not work?
One of things I don’t think that works very well is the flash box
because I think it stands out to much and does not really fit into the
whole theme of the magazine, I think if I could do this again I would
take out the flash box because I do not like it being there.

I also do not think that my main articles box is very good because I
forgot to put in page numbers for the main articles which is very
important.
What I found difficult?
The things I have found difficult is getting the layout the right way and
making everything fit together and make it more eye catching for the
reader, for example I think that my flash box is poorly placed, because
it is right in the bottom left hand corner the reason I placed it here
was because I could not put it anywhere else.

Another thing I found how difficult was making up the articles because
I could not think on what do for them because it was hard for me to
come up with come articles and make them interesting enough that
people might want to read them.
What I found easy?
The things I found easy was the designing part of everything
because I am use to doing this and have done it for jobs in the
past so I was very use on how to design certain things like the
masthead, and I did not find it to hard to make it.

Another thing I found easy was getting the photography for my
front cover and also my contents page, I think this is because I
had practice for doing the summer project and knew what I
wanted to have for the front cover and did not get all confused
on what I wanted.
What I have learnt?
The things I have learnt are that I can now use Photoshop to my
advantage and a lot better than I could before, and I have also
learnt how to make sure I layout things so that the reader is more
likely to want to read the magazine and does not want to just skip
pass my magazine.

I have also learnt about the left third and what should go in the
left third and also the masthead and how to make a good
masthead. This is good because it means that it will help with
what I want to do in the future which is design magazines and
posters.

I have also leant how to make good leadline for my magazines
which will also get peoples attention.
What would I change?
The things I would change is the layout of the front cover because I do not really like where I have put the flash box, I
would also change and put page numbers on the main articles.
