1. Introduction about Myself:
I am Dr Amit Saini, Founder and President ofGlobal Oral Health
FoundationSociety, SBS Nagar, Punjab-India.
I am a Dental Surgeon from Nawanshahr, Punjab-India. I have 19
years of Clinical Experience in General Dentistry at my private setup at
my home town. Lately, I have ventured in the Non-Profit Sector in the
field of Dental Healthcare from January 2013onwards.
My Social Venture “Global Oral Health Foundation Society” is with a
mission to provide for “Oral Healthcare for all”. The Cause of
Undertaking Oral Health programmes for the poor and the
underprivileged living in the rural countryside is to provide for an
effective maintenance of good oral health and hygiene by way of
subsidised treatment of dental ailments among the people irrespective
of cultural or religious diversity. After all, we must not forget that 74%
of India resides in itsVillages.
I had in this mission, conceptualised and set up the Dental Department
at Shri Nabh Kanwal Raja Sahib Charitable Hospital at Village Mazara
Nau-Abad in Nawanshahr-Punjab in the year 2007. This Dental
Department went on to provide Dental Healthcare Treatment to the
people living in the village and also to the surrounding villages at
highly subsidised costs. It revolutionized Oral Healthcare among the
rural areasin approximately around a belt of 150 Villages.
2. Many patients had come for their First visit to a Dentist such was the
neglect about their Oral Health. This translates into the lack of
knowledge about Oral Health and Hygiene in the rural populations.
Much more such Initiatives are needed for the spread of awareness of
Oral Health by the opening up of Dental Centres across the Villages in
Rural India.
Till date the NGO has conducted over 20 Dental Camps across the
villages in SBS Nagar, Punjab-India. I am sharing with you all the
Consolidated Statistics of the First 20 Dental along with the Results. I
am sharing the Link with you all with a Brief Write-up of my
Observationsduring these Camps:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8-CdGuIFX4-enQzN3lfQl91OTA
The Clinical Findings of the Dental Camps conducted by the
NGO:
1. 50% of the Female patientswere from 20-40 yearsage group.
2. 70% of the Male patientswere below 40 years.
3. 50% of all the patientsexamined ( male & female both) had poor
Oral Hygiene. They were advised Oral Prophylaxis( professional
cleaning of teeth by a Dentist/ DentalHygienist).
4. A majority ofthe childrenover 40% under the 20 yrsage group
had one or more cariousteeth. Thiswasbecause of the lack of
good oral hygiene habitsamong childrenand the large
consumption ofsweets( sucrose ) by the children.
Thus this Project plans by the opening of Rural Dental
Centres in the villages across India aims to:
a. Increase awarenessof the importance ofOral Health.
b. Improve accessto Dental Services in Rural India under the
supervisionof a qualified dentalsurgeonand supporting staff.
c. Preventionof Oral Cancer by awareness and preventive
methods.

PROGRAMME-SDL 12
I have been invited by Dr Raman Bedi for the Senior Dental Leadership
Programme inthe UK in 2018. Mr Bedi has said that I wish to come
then the GlobalChild Dental Fund will waive off 50% of my registration
fee of 10,000 US Dollar.
It is the best opportunity tolearnfrom the Leaders in Oral Health and
get the same replicated back home inIndia. Though it is an excellent
opportunity but the remaining5000 US Dollars is still too High for
myself to attend.
It is my earnest appealto Organizations / Foundations to back me so
