  1. Good afternoon and thank you for having me.
  2. I'd like to start by introducing you all to this man, take a good look at him. He was a medical doctor working in the poor district of Lisbon in the 1920s. Back then he was actually the one going from door-to-door, seeing patients in their home. Now what I told you that almost 100 years later his great-grandson also went on to become a medical doctor, and went back to that old way of seeing patients at home, except this time he doesn't move and patients don't move either. Just who was this man and it is that other guy? You've probably guessed it by now: that would be me and this is my great-grandfather.
  3. My name is Diogo Medina, I am a medical doctor, a master in public health, a current MBA student and the founder of Consulta do Viajante .com.
  4. These are my founding team members, Afonso and João,
  5. ...and these are our members in business development, Rita and Luís. Together we have a combined experience in the healthcare sector of 35 years. Working as healthcare professionals and really listening to people’s problems, we soon realized that Healthcare Services are often one of them.
  6. For the most part they are still very confusing for many,
  7. ...expensive for all,
  8. ...and very time-consuming. We all hate having to waste hours to book, go to, wait, and come back from a simple 15 minute conversation with our doctor.
  9. Consulta do Viajante solve this.
  10. It is Portugal's first fully online medical clinic,
  11. ...connecting patients and medical doctors through a multi-sided platform in a much easier way.
  12. It is the place where patients can come to book, pay for, enjoy their video consultation online with a medical doctor, and then receive their medical prescription that they can print at home and use in their local pharmacy. All of this without once stepping a foot outside of the house.
  13. This dramatically reduces wasted time,
  14. ...reduces cost,
  15. ...while increasing access value and satisfaction.
  16. Let's take a look at what our competition is, using these three criteria: speed, affordability and ease-of-use.
  17. Our main competitor are brick-and-mortar clinics, be it public or private ones. If we take a look at public clinics, they’re really affordable, but really not fast.
  18. Private clinics are fast, but really won’t come cheap.
  19. We on the other hand are also fast, coming in at a midprice, and are extremely easy-to-use.
  20. We think this is a big deal, and we’re not alone in this. The general director for health, this gentleman with a funky looking beard over here, has said about us, and I quote: “I believe this service provides value ease of access saving travelers time otherwise lost going to the doctor”.
  21. We couldn't agree more, but more important than what we or he has to say, is what customers have to say — and results so far show very interesting traction.
  22. We've been able to service over 1300 paying customers,
  23. ...at an average month over month growth rate of 21%,
  24. ...and we're offering something people just love to use: our net promoter score is currently sitting at a whopping 93% after nearly 1000 reviews.
  25. This KPI measures customer loyalty and potential for growth.
  26. It can go from -100 to +100, and we’re not only past the very difficult +80 mark, but we're above average scores for hospitals.
  27. But qe didn't do this alone. We were very fortunate to participate in Beta-i’s Protechting Acceleration program in the early stage of our product launch.
  28. Last year we took the first prize in competition in Fábrica de Startups’ discoveries program,
  29. ...and we are currently partnering with the Lisbon MDA and Viable to fine-tune our business model.
  30. We are very happy, but we’re not done yet.
  31. If my great-grandfather alive today,
  32. ...I know he’d be thrilled to be able to use this solution. And this is exactly what we want to do: we want to put smiles back in peoples faces as they use Healthcare Services.
  33. After our successful 1 doctor proof of concept, we’ve managed to become the 3rd major player in travel health in Portugal.
  34. Now we are working towards a midterm goal of scaling tomore doctors, in order to become Portugal’s first player intravel health, na industry with market size value of 1,5 million euros.
  35. This is the enthusiastic team of medical doctors that are standing by, ready to start working with us.
  36. Once we achieve the second goal by the end of this year, in the long term we'll look to branch out to other medical specialties that may benefit from such an approach, and become Portugal’s main player in telemedicine.
  37. To do this we’re now looking for funding of €30k, that will allow usfurther development, marketing activities and 2 year runway.
  38. This together with the right partnerships
  39. ...will help us scale and grow.
