3. INTRODUCTION
Six Sigma is a process that makes use of statistics and data analysis to
analyze and reduce errors or defects. In this process, the purpose is to
improve cycle times while reducing manufacturing defects to no more
than 3.4 defects per million units or events.
CALCULATING SIGMA LEVEL
Organizations and teams can calculate the sigma level of a product or
process using the equation
{(# of opportunities - # of defects)/ # of opportunities}*100= Yield
5. Other Sectors :
On Cyber Monday in 2013, Amazon processed a whopping 36.8 million
orders. Let’s assume that each order error costs the company an average
of $35.
