Arabic (plural) of Adab : meanings – “good breeding, decency,
nurture, good manners, refinement, cultured, decorum, courteous,
etiquette, propriety, social grace, to educate, discipline, the
humanities, etc.” sense of proportion and knowledge of their rightful
place in the order of things, the absence of which indicates injustice

- 27. “[We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances.
And We revealed to you the message that you may make
clear to the people what was sent down to them and that
they might give thought.”

- 29. Then, do those who have planned evil deeds feel secure that
Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them or that the
punishment will not come upon them from where they do not
perceive?
Or that He would not seize them during their [usual] activity,
and they could not cause failure?
Or that He would not seize them gradually [in a state of
dread]? But indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful. .”
(Qur’an: An-Nahlu: 16: 45-46)

Their shadows incline to the right and to the left,
prostrating to Allah, while they are humble.”

- 31. “And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and
whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as
well], and they are not arrogant. They fear their Lord
above them, and they do what they are commanded.”

death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send
me back .That I might do righteousness in that which I
left behind."
No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is
a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.”
(Qur’an: Mu’minun: 23: 99-100)

- 35. Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against
themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of
Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He
who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
(Qur’an: Zumar: 39: 54-55)

- 37. “Hence, (ANEE-BU) turn towards your Sustainer [alone]
and (AS-LIMUU) surrender yourselves unto Him ere the
suffering [of death and resurrection] comes upon you ,
for then you will not be succoured. And before that
suffering comes upon you of a sudden, without your
being aware [of its approach], follow the most goodly
[teaching] that has been revealed unto you by your
Sustainer,”
(Qur’an: Zumar: 39: 54-55)

- 39. “O you who have attained to faith! (TUU-BUU –
ILALAAH) Turn unto Allah in (TAU-BATAN NA-SwUU-HA)
sincere repentance: it may well be that your Sustainer
will efface from you your bad deeds, and will admit you
into gardens through which running waters flow, on a
Day on which Allah will not shame the Prophet and
those who share his faith: … ”
(Qur’an: Tahrim: 66: 8)

- 40. “…. their light will spread rapidly before them, and on their
right; [and] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Cause this our
light to shine for us forever, and forgive us our sins: for,
verily, Thou hast the power to will anything!"
(Qur’an: Tahrim: 66: 8)

- 42. “Verily, Allah's acceptance of repentance relates only
to those who do evil out of ignorance and then repent
before their time runs out: and it is they unto whom
Allah will turn again in His mercy - for Allah is allknowing, wise; whereas repentance shall not be
accepted from those who do evil deeds until their dying
hour and then say, "Behold, I now repent"; nor from
those who die as deniers of the truth: it is these for
whom We have readied grievous suffering.”
(Qur’an: An-Nisa’: 4: 17-18)

IN-NA-KA – AN-TAT-TAW-WAA-BUL – GHA-FUUR
“O my Lord, forgive me and turn towards me
(to accept my repentance). Verily You are
The Oft-Returning. The Oft-Forgiving.”

- 45. “O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be
worshipped except You, You created me and I am Your
servant and I abide to Your covenant and promise as
best I can, I take refuge in You from the evil of which I
have committed. I acknowledge Your favor upon me
and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily
none can forgive sin except You.”

- 47. ”All praise is due to Allah, who has guided us unto this;
for we would certainly not have found the right path
unless Allah had guided us!”

- 49. "O our Sustainer! Thou hast not created [aught of] this
without meaning and purpose. Limitless art Thou in Thy
glory! Keep us safe, then, from suffering through fire!

- 50. "O our Sustainer! Whomsoever Thou shalt commit to the fire,
him, verily, wilt Thou have brought to disgrace [in this world];
and such evildoers will have none to succour (help) them.”

- 51. "O our Sustainer! Behold, we heard a voice call [us] unto faith,
`Believe in your Sustainer!' - and so we came to believe.
O our Sustainer! Forgive us, then, our sins, and efface our bad
deeds; and let us die the death of the truly virtuous!”

- 52. "And, O our Sustainer, grant us that which Thou hast promised us
through Thy apostles, and disgrace us not on Resurrection Day!
Verily, Thou never failest to fulfil Thy promise!"

- 53. O Allah! We beseech You help to make us to remember
and be grateful towards You, and make us serve
(worship) You in the best way.

- 54. “O my Sustainer (Lord)! ! Inspire me so that I may forever be grateful for those blessings of Thine with which Thou hast graced me and my parents, and that I may do what is right [in a manner] that will please Thee; and include me, by Thy grace, among Thy righteous servants!”

- 56. “O my Sustainer (Lord)! Inspire me so that I may forever
be grateful for those blessings of Thine with which
Thou hast graced me and my parents, and that I may
do what is right [in a manner] that will meet with Thy
goodly acceptance; and grant me righteousness in my
offspring [as well]. Verily, unto Thee have I turned in
repentance: for, verily, I am of those who have
surrendered themselves unto Thee!””
(Qur’an: Ahqaf: 46: 15)

- 57. "Our Lord! Make of us Muslims bowing to Thy (Will) and of our
progeny a people Muslim bowing to Thy (Will) and show us our
places for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in
Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Returning Most-Merciful.

- 58. “Our Lord ! Grant that our spouses and our offspring be a joy to
our eyes, and cause us to be foremost amongst those who are
conscious of Thee! (as ‘mut-taqqin’).”

- 59. "Our Lord! pour out constancy on us and make our steps firm;
Help us against those that reject faith."

have guided us; and bestow upon us the gift of Thy Grace
(Mercy): verily, You are the (true) giver of Gifts (bestowals).”

- 62. “Our Lord ! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; Our
Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on
those before us : Our Lord ! Lay not on us a burden greater
than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, And grant
us forgiveness, Have Mercy on us. You are our protector :
Help us against the unbelievers.”
(Qur’an : al-Baqarah : 286)
