March 17is  Saint Patrick’s Day Do you know what is the country of origin of this celebration?

Saint Patrick is the patron of Ireland
Saint Patrick was born in England, but moved to Ireland to spread the christian faith
Saint Patrick is celebrated on March 17 because supposedly this was the day he died in the year 461 A.D
People believe that Saint Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland But the thruth is that Ireland never had snakes!!
Like Turkey on Thanksgiving, on Saint Patrick’s Day people eat corned beef and cabbage
How is Saint Patrick’s Day celebrated? Some honor Saint Patrick by attending mass, or watching a parade Others, having a feast with beer to celebrate that spring is just around the corner!
On March 17 many countries celebrate  Saint Patrick’s Day

The Shamrock One traditional symbol of Saint Patrick's Day is the Shamrock "Shamrock" is the common name for several different kinds of three-leafed clovers native to Ireland Legend says that St. Patrick had used it to illustrate the doctrine of the Trinity. It also gives good luck!
The Leprechaun The name leprechaun comes from the old Irish word "luchorpan" which means "little body." A leprechaun is an Irish fairy who looks like a small, old man about 2 feet tall. He is often dressed like a shoemaker, with a crooked hat and a leather apron. According to legend, leprechauns are aloof and unfriendly. They live alone, and pass the time making shoes. They also have a hidden pot of gold!
Believe it or not, the color of St. Patrick was not actually green, but  blue ! It has becomed the official colour of Saint Patrick’s Day because Ireland is known as the “Emerald Isle”, for its beautiful green landscapes. Wearing the color green is considered an act of paying tribute to Ireland. It is said that it also brings good luck.  Many years ago, playful Irish children began the tradition of pinching people who forgot to wear green on St. Patrick's Day and the tradition is still practiced today.
