Microsoft to be lead by Telugu Guy
On what we call a proud moment for all Telugu‟s across the world Technology giant Microsoft
on Tuesday named Hyderabad born Satya Nadella as its next chief executive officer.
Satya Nadella (48), a native of Hyderabad, will be only the third CEO in Microsoft‟s 38-year
history, after co-founder Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.
A longtime Microsoft executive, Nadella and his team delivered „Cloud OS, a next-generation
backend platform. He is said to have deeper engineering background than other candidates
Kevin Turner, company‟s top sales executive and Tony Bates of Skype which has been
acquired by Microsoft

A native of Hyderabad, Satyanarayana Nadella attended HyderabadPublic School (HPS) in
Begumpet.His wife also studied at HPS. His parents are living in Hyderabad. Nadella did his
BE in Electronics and Communication from the Manipal University.
After moving to the US, he earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the
University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a Master of Business Administration from the
University of Chicago Both School of Business. Nadella worked with Sun Micro systems as a
member of the technology staff before joining Microsoft in 1992.
Apart from being shaped by his family and his experiences, Nadella said in his email to
Microsoft employees, “I am also defined by my curiosity and thirst for learning”.
“I buy more books than I can finish. I sign up for more online courses than I can complete. I
fundamentally believe that if you are not learning new things, you stop doing great and useful
things.”
Nadella said he is “honoured, humbled and excited” by his appointment.
