• The number of online purchases in Spain reached 29 million in the fourth quarter of 2010, up by +29%
compared to the fourth quarter of 2009.
• Online purchases in Spain are mainly made on the product manufacturer’s website or shops that only sell
online.
• In 2010, “Tickets for Events” was the most popular product category in Spanish B2C E-Commerce, followed
by “Clothes, Sports Goods”.
• There were 28 million Internet users in Spain in 2010, accounting for 60% of the total country population.
• El Corte Ingles was the leading B2C E-Commerce player in terms of unique monthly visitors in Spain in May
2011, followed by Privalia.com, Carrefour, Casa del Libro, Zara, La Redoute and Venca.
