• In Spain, the second quarter of 2009 represented the highest quarterly growth in E-Commerce (+16%) over
the past 12 months.
• The share of B2C E-Commerce on total retail sales in Spain accounted for 2.9% in 2008, up from 2.5%
in 2007.
• 12% of Spaniards said they bought travel and holiday accommodation services over the Internet in the
second quarter of 2008.
• In 2009, 54% of Spanish households had Internet access, lower than the EU27 average of 67%.
• The Spanish B2C E-Commerce market is dominated by multichannel retailers such as El Corte Ingles,
Mercadona and Eroski.
