Turner was an English Romantic painter known for his landscape paintings and mastery of light. Some of his most famous works include "The Fighting Temeraire" which depicts a retired naval ship being towed to the scrapyard to be broken up. He is also known for paintings such as "Rain, Steam and Speed" which captures the industrial revolution and advancement of technology. Turner worked primarily in oil and watercolor paintings and is considered a pioneer of Impressionism with his use of light, color, and atmospheric effects in his landscape works.
