  1. Going to cover marketing a couple of different ways today. Strategies and tools you can do for your small business and strategies and tools with this campaign “An Entrepreneurial Christmas Story.
  2. Our Facebook Page. We have been showcasing the ornaments on our FB page and loaded all ornament pics in our photo album “An Entrepreneurial Christmas Story.” To find our page easily, just type in Wyoming Entrepreneur in the search box.
  3. If you have a Facebook account and or a page, find your picture in our photo album and make a comment, tell us more about your business and share with your friends on your personal account or on your page. With the narratives we have received with your ornament, we will be sharing your story through PitchEngine! There are so many strategies on Facebook and Twitter, join one of our pod calls to find out more details.
  4. We may contact you to obtain website addresses, FB page names, Twitter usernames, etc. for our PitchEngine pitches. We will be brainstorming more on pod calls on marketing strategies.
  5. Pushing information is hard, pulling is much easier!
  6. Different perspectives here. Be sure you think like your consumers too. You want exposure, you want salesYour customers want your products and information, but they are also looking for value, they want to trust you and your products, they want info and if they don’t get it from you, they will go elsewhere. Give them a reason to buy from you.

  8. Google claims that 89% of people research products online before they buy. Have you noticed recently that when you enter a product or service, a list of local businesses where you live pops up? Is your business listed? Is the information correct? Google your business industry and see if you show up.
  9. Google Insights-free, determine seasonality, choose best keywords in marketing messages based on interest/searches. Try it out.
  10. Use this as your guide: Get yourself out there, get listedGet people engaged; ask open-ended questions, use polls, surveys, ask for feedbackGive people something interesting, provide a professional engaging environment, think like a consumer, demonstrate benefitsMake them feel like family, make them feel importantAnd in return, purchasesGain their trust and confidence and you get loyalty
  11. Many social media sites have some kind of analytics built in. There are many apps to use too. Be clear what success will mean to you.Facebook provides Insights (only admins can view this) view activity daily, weekly, monthlyMany apps you can use with Twitter to track analytics
  12. An example using Tweetstats. We started tweeting September 2008, very sporadically.
  13. Some fun things businesses are doing: Blendtec, check it out. People love videos! Do you have a creative approach to getting your name out there? Attended a conference recently and one of the speakers said, “YouTube is a dumpingground for people with attitudes.” Yes this does happen. Don’t give people a reason to smear your name or product on a video. Check out the video “United Breaks Guitars” for negative marketing impact
