Louis Armstrong was an American jazz trumpeter and singer who was one of the most influential figures in jazz music history. He was known for his innovative approach to soloing and improvisation which helped establish jazz as an art form. Armstrong was also a pioneer in scat singing and was one of the first popular singers to scat sing on recordings.
