- 2011 was a big year for mobile devices. More and more people are using mobile devices everyday. If your website is web friendly but not mobile friendly then you need to take a serious look at the future and how to be part of it. The expense will far out weight the benefits.
- 8 trillion tests were sent in 2011. Most are sent by the young age group 13 to 25 with an average of 1095 texts per day. - When they were not texting they were tweeting, over 103 million tweets have been sent so far this year alone. Tweeting and texting is being used by everyone from Politicians to teenagers. - Facebook has over 800 million users today and that number is growing everyday. More than 50% of active users log on to Facebook everyday. The average user has 130 friends. More than 350 million active uses log on from a mobile device. These users are twice as active as non mobile users.
- There were more smartphones and other mobile devices purchased this year so far than PC’s. Therefore you can see that smartphones and tablets are creating a market much larger than the web. You and your business need to be ready because that market is only going to get larger.
- The impact of instant communications is what everyone is after today. Cameras are becoming obsolete because of the cameras in smartphones and tablets. There are more wireless subscriptions than people. With the development of html5 and CSS 3 you can take your web friendly site and make it mobile friendly as well. Html5 and CSS3 allow the designer to implement coding that will make your site work whether on the web are on a mobile device. Videos are easily up loadable, photos are resize so that loading time is far less on a mobile device and there is coding that will make your site work no matter what browser the end user is using.
