A huge and vivid street sign to be placed while reaching some iconic
area, along road sign to trigger patron’s excitement, instead of typical
signboard. It cheers the patrons and create some fun element without
losing it’s functionality.

A facade sign not merely just act as an indication
sign to the user but also allow interactions of human
with environment. A wooden platform with greenery
of grass carpet and underlay not just to enhance visual
appearance but also create a welcoming area which interact with the user.

5. Mix signage decor is a resemblance of Hong Kong happening street style bring into Let’s Makan,
with our very own Malaysian favour of style and design to make the local and even foreign visitor to have a
strong feeling attached to Malacca. The concept of vertically hang old timer fluorescent neon light are further
translate into contemparay graphics which easily apply at glass graphics.

To fit the theme of Auspicious Monkey Year of 2016, three signature monkeys mascot are design to represent
the words PROSPERITY, LONGEVITY AND HAPPINESS in chinese. The auspicious sign of Chinese motif and
graphics are inspired and depicted from the contemporary Baba Nyonya graphics of Malacca,yet away from
the conventional look in order to give patrons something fresh, fun and visually enticing in this coming Chinese

Colour scheme and the infographics are the two most important factors to decide whether a carpark wayfinding
is a success or failure. Cool and contrast hue are preferrably used as to minimize the hazard and stressness within.
It also enhances driver’s vision during wayfinding, as it helps in focusing to the important message immediately.
Research shown that a good wayfinding system can reduce the chances of unnecessarry accidents happened. A
minimal design style of graphics used in The Sentral Residence carpark mainly to lead residents and visitors to
park at the most convenient area while accessing the building.

The concept of “forest”is further elaborate into directional wayfinding inspired by the natural
shadow effect, creates an interesting trick on the floor which draw patron’s attention to it. Leaf
shape is applied throughout the signage design according to their function to create a leafy feel
to the environment.
A slice of oriental touch of a reminiscent of old Malacca culture applied throughout the directional wayfinding,
to replace a new fresh look for the entire mall. Moreover, the wayfinding system also be improved to a better
and clearer infographic to aid patron easily access to all shopping and facilities area which conecting Dataran
Pahlawan and Terminal Pahlawan.

13. Utropolis Marketplace is going out of norm to a young and energetic image. Fresh and vibrant colour scheme
are slected together with edgy and modern customized signages applied throughout the retail levels to match
with the building concept. It gives the overall building a fun feeling yet does not lose it’s professional look.
An ingenious way of playing with graphics and pictogram design definitely add credit to the entire look.
