1. Skills for the advanced care of low vision patients within a specialized
optometric setting and within a hospital ophthalmologic eye clinic.
2. Knowledge and understanding of the care of geriatric patients requiring a
comprehensive evaluation of their oculo-functional status
3. Necessary clinical skills to render to patients requiring advanced ophthalmic
investigation including imaging procedures. electro diagnostics and
procedures pertaining to visual function evaluation
4. Knowledge and skills to provide emergency ocular care to patients presenting
with acute eye conditions requiring careful triage
5. Knowledge and skills to decide on the urgency of referral for ophthalmologic

Sinopsis Mata Pelajaran

- This is an advanced clinical module involving mostly direct clinical care. In
addition to observation of care being delivered to patients needing advanced
low vision work up and those with ocular disease needing medical & surgical
management of the low vision patients will be emphasized. Demonstration of
patients with ocular disease will be carried out, due emphasis is placed on
special investigations required plus the management of the ocular condition
prevailing . Students will examine patients in the Collage Specialty Care
Clinics whilst also attending Ophthalmology clinics afflicted to the collage
and taking part in clinical discussions on cases seen.
