Heb 11:20-21 “By faith Isaac
blessed Jacob and Esau in
regard to their future. 21 By
faith Jacob, when he was
dying, blessed each of
Joseph’s sons, and
worshiped as he leaned on
the top of his staff.”

2Sa 9:6 And Mephibosheth,
the son of Jonathan, came to
David, and falling down on his
face, gave him honour. And
David said, Mephibosheth.
And answering he said, Your
servant is here.
14.
2Sa 9:7 And David said to him,
Have no fear: for truly I will be
good to you, because of your
father Jonathan, and I will give
back to you all the land which
was Saul's; and you will have a
place at my table at all times.
15.
1Ki 11:11 So the Lord said to
Solomon, Because you have
done this, and have not kept
my agreement and my laws,
which I gave you, I will take
the kingdom away from you
by force and will give it to your
servant.
16.
1Ki 11:12 I will not do it in your
life-time, because of your
father David, but I will take it
from your son.
17.
Psa 37:25 I have been young,
and now am old, but I have
not seen the good man
without help, or his children
looking for bread.
18.
Gen 27:27 And he came near,
and kissed him: and he
smelled the smell of his
raiment, and blessed him, and
said, See, the smell of my son
is as the smell of a field which
the LORD hath blessed:
19.
Gen 27:28 Therefore God give
thee of the dew of heaven,
and the fatness of the earth,
and plenty of corn and wine:
20.
Gen 27:29 Let people serve
thee, and nations bow down to
thee: be lord over thy brethren,
and let thy mother's sons bow
down to thee: cursed be every
one that curseth thee, and
blessed be he that blesseth
thee.
21.
"Build me a son, O Lord, who
will be strong enough to know
when he is weak, & brave
enough to face himself when
he is afraid. One who will be
proud & unbending in honest
defeat, & humble & gentle in
victory.
22.
"Build me a son whose wishes will
not take the place of deeds - a
son who will know Thee, who is
the foundation stone of
knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not
in the path of ease & comfort, but
under the stress & spur of
difficulties & challenge.
23.
"Here let him learn to stand up to
the storm. Here let him learn
compassion for those who fail.
Build me a son whose heart will be
clear, whose goal will be high, a
son who will master himself before
he seeks to master other men, one
who will reach into the future, yet
never forget the past.
24.
"And after all these things are his,
add, I pray, enough of a sense of
humor so that he may always be
serious but never take himself too
seriously. Give him humility so that
he may always remember the
simplicity of true greatness, & an
open mind of true wisdom, & the
meekness of true strength.
25.
"Then I, his father, will dare
to whisper, `I have not lived
in vain.’"
