comments that those who want to go for drilling in the reserve show economic
benefit but this benefit is not permanent. On the other hand, the environmental
groups say that the damage will be permanent and almost irreversible. They also
say that the oil drilling will meet the demands of Americans for only a decade which

Republican Party is in line with the oil companies as this drilling will temporarily
make US less dependent on oil import and eventually getting the energy budget
low. For this reason the republicans want drilling. Oil companies have seen that if
they can drill the reserve, they can get benefits by meeting temporary supply
demand. That is why these companies are funding a lot to go with Republicans. All
this is happening to gain advantage from political platform
Raven, 2010 points out that the environmentalists, among whom many Democrats
can be seen, are in the opposing side. They want to protect the ecosystem and
eventually the food web of the world. That is why we can see that these people are
aiming with short term solution to gain permanent result. Greenpeace and some
