 A gold medalist from the Film and Television Institute of India
(FTII), Pune
 His student film, Avasesh was awarded the National Film Award
for Best Short Fiction Film
 He served as a Principal for a film institute in Bengaluru
 The International Film Festival of Rotterdam held a
retrospective of Girish Kasaravalli’s films in 2003
