1. VIPC Capital Management: Viet Investment Power
Operating in the field of investment fund management, VIPC has gradually built
up its reputation on the marketplace. Vietnam Economic News' Minh Kiet spoke
with Nguyen Xuan Tung, the general director of VIPC, about its achievements and
difficulties.
Could you give a brief introduction on VIPC?
VIPC, known as VIPC Capital Management Corporation or VIPC Fund Management Joint Stock
Company, is an independent investment fund management company, which operates based on
teamwork management principles and trustworthy relationships with investors. VIPC manages
securities investment funds, securities investment companies and investment portfolios. VIPC
has the VIP F1 Investment Fund and a real estate investment fund. It provides services in the
field of private wealth management and institute asset management. VIPC is also a professional
advisor. The company has a professional, dynamic and experienced staff. They have good
management skills and seriously abide by the law. The company has the experience of working
with famous domestic and foreign financial groups.
Could you describe the company's functions?
VIPC has two functions. First, it manages the investment portfolios of domestic and foreign
individual investors. In fact, many investors from China, Singapore and other countries want
very much to invest in Vietnam but they know almost nothing about the market and regulations
in Vietnam. Therefore, VIPC will help them manage their investment capital by taking 50 percent
or 100 percent of the right to make investment decisions for them. So VIPC can expand its
operations overseas. Presently, VIPC is preparing to open its representative office in Hong
Kong, China and will present the investment portfolios of financial companies so that they can
attract customers for VIPC. Second, VIPC manages investment funds for member funds, public
funds and foreign funds.
What difficulties are facing VIPC?
Reality shows that whenever businesses begin a new activity, they will face problems related to
State management. Therefore, State regulations must be clear so that they can facilitate healthy
operations of investment funds. The Government has improved the legal corridor, allowing

2. investment funds to operate. The State should allow the opening of other funds such as real
estate deposit funds in order to create new investment channels for investors. Investment funds
expect that the State will create a favorable legal framework for them to operate effectively.
Do you have any advice for investors?
Investors should not be too sensitive to market changes. They should get update information
about the market everyday and make wise decisions. If they can, small investors should invest
in investment funds to be provided with consultancy related to interest rates, risks and
investment duration. Small investors can also ask investment funds to invest on their behalf in
the fields that can bring investors the highest benefits.
VIPC believes that with its professional working style, the company can show domestic and
foreign investors that Vietnam is one of the most attractive developing markets in the world, and
that Vietnam is really a good destination for investors. Vietnamese people are capable to
operate and manage investment portfolios in order to create new values for any investment
project. However, when the domestic market opens, foreign investment funds will be present in
Vietnam, leading to fiercer competition. Therefore VIPC is aware that right now the company
has to improve its capability and strengthen its reputation by helping investors succeed, thus
enhancing its competitiveness./.
