ATTRACTIONS:
Lake Malaren - Lake Mälarenis the third-largest lake in
Sweden, after Lakes Vänern and Vättern. Its area is
1,140 km² and its greatest depth is 64 m. Mälaren spans 120
kilometers from east to west.Lake Malaren is often mistaken
for part of the Stockholm archipelago. It is actually a very
large lake approximately 1 meter higher than the
archipelago. The boat locks are located under the bridge at
"Slussen" in the central part of Stockholm. If you view the
map of Stockholm in the 5 or 10 kilometer scale, Lake
Malerenare the waterways located to the west of Stockholm.
2. Vasa Museum–A tourist favorite, but an amazing one. This
17th-century warship spent 333 years in the mud of Stockholm
Harbor. Raised in 1961 and housed in the weirdest-looking
building in town. On the beautiful island of Djurgården, the
former royal hunting grounds.
The Vasa Museum is situated on the island of Djurgården in
Stockholm, Sweden. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the
Central Station and 10 minutes from the metro station Karlaplan.

How to get there:
Tram
The easiest way to get to the museum is by tram. From the city centre (by Sergelstorg square, on
Hamngatan street) take tram number 7 towards Waldemarsudde.
Bus
Bus 44 to bus stop Nordiskamuseet/Vasamuseet.
Bus 69 and 76 to bus stop Djurgårdsbron.
Metro
Red line to station Karlaplan. From there a 10 minute walk or bus 44 to bus stop
Nordiskamuseet/Vasamuseet.

archipelago.

5. Skansen - Skansen is the first open air museum and zoo in Sweden and is located on
the island Djurgården in Stockholm, Sweden. It was founded in 1891 by ArturHazelius (1833–
1901) to show the way of life in the different parts of Sweden before the industrial era.

How to get to Skansen
Ferry
The ferry leaves from Slussen at the end of Gamlastan. The ferry takes visitors to Skeppsholmen
and to Allmännagränd on Djurgården. The nearest bus stop in Gamlastan is Räntmästartrappan.
Bus 2 and bus 76 access the stop. The ferry terminal is a short walk from the Slussen metro

Buss/tram
Bus 44 takes you to Skansen via Karlaplan. The metro station at Karlaplan is served by the red
line to Ropsten. Timetable here>>
From T-Centralen in the city centre you can take bus 69 or bus 69K and change to the No.7 tram
at Norrmalmstorg, Nybroplan, Styrmansgatan or Djurgårdsbron. The tram takes you out to
Djurgården and stops at Nordiskamuseet/Vasamuseet/Junibacken, Liljevalchs/Gröna Lund,
Skansen, Djurgårdsskolan and Waldemarsudde.
From Slussen you can take bus 76 (destination Frihamnen or Ropsten) and change to tram No.7
at Nybroplan, Styrmansgatan or Djurgårdsbron.

The Djurgården Bus
The buses used on the route are nice new double-deckers with AC and free Wi Fi onboard. The
buses run every day between 09:00 and 15:00 departing every twenty minutes from the City
Bus Terminal in central Stockholm. You buy your ticket on the bus. For stops and more info,

By car
Going by car is not recommended since it´s difficult to find parking space on Djurgården and
traffic is quite heavy during rush hour.
On foot
Skansen is not very far from the center of Stockholm. Walking here gives you a very nice tour of
the Stockholm waterfront.

The funicular railway
You will find the funicular railway just inside the Hazelius gate. The funicular railway has the
same opening hours as the Hazelius gate and it will conveniently take you up the
Skansenmountain. You get off right behind the Forrestry, close to the Tingsvallen, the Bollnäs
square and the Delsbo farm. The funicular is a great form of transportation if you visit us with a
pram or in a wheelchair.

8. City Hall (Stadshuset)- This building is the seat of Stockholm city government,
home to a luxury restaurant and the site of the banquet after the Nobel Prize ceremony. The
organ in the Blue Hall has 10,270 pipes and is the largest in Scandinavia.

The Katarina Elevator - The Katarina Elevator is a
passenger elevator in Stockholm that connects Slussen (the lock area) to the heights
of Södermalm. The original elevator was constructed in 1881, but the current structure dates
from the rebuilding of the Slussen transport interchange in 1935.

9. Sergels Torg - Sergelstorgis the most central public square in Stockholm, Sweden,
named after 18th century sculptorJohan Tobias Sergel, whose workshop was once located north
of the square.

DrottningholmPalace - The Drottningholm Palace is the private residence of
the Swedish royal family. It is located in Drottningholm. It is built on the island Lovön, and is
one of Sweden's Royal Palaces. It was originally built in the late 16th century. It served as a
residence of the Swedish royal court for most of the 18th century. Apart from being the private
residence of the Swedish royal family, the palace is a popular tourist attraction.

11. Kungsträdgården– Kungsträdgården is a park in central The park's central
location and its outdoor cafés makes it one of the most popular hangouts and meeting places in
Stockholm. It also hosts open-air concerts and events in summer, while offering an ice
rink[1]during winters. Additionally, First of May demonstrations held by theLeft Party and
other communist and left-wing parties usually take place here each year. There is also a number
of cafés, art galleries and restaurants; for example GalleriDoktorGlas, a name taken from the
novel Doctor Glas by HjalmarSöderberg published in 1905.
The park is divided into four distinct spaces (south to north): (1) Square of Charles XII; (2)
Molin's Fountain; (3); Square of Charles XIII and (4) "Fountain of Wolodarski" (without an
official name). The park is administered and events in it organized by the Stockholm Chamber of
Commerce.Stockholm, Sweden. It is colloquially known as Kungsan.
