Notebook scenario - a business user is preparing for a presentation.  The user starts by using Vista MovieMaker to resize digital video content to a lower resolution in order to place it into the presentation slides. After starting the video compression, the user starts conversion of a Microsoft Word* document to Adobe Acrobat* PDF format for digital distribution to the presentation audience. As the user starts the file conversion, an automated McAfee virus scan, initiated by the IT department, begins in the background. Some newer PCs have technologies that can provide added protection against viruses and attacks with programmable defense filters and automatically isolate an infected PC from the network before it can infect other PCs.

  • Here we have a variety of applications which show the performance of the Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology with a 2.26 GHz P8400 Intel® Core™2 Duo processor, with 3 MB of cache. Imagine your customer is considering sending coupons to his entire customer database, with a larger discount to new customers. This workload is similar – it executes a number of common Microsoft Excel* calculations across a large database. The second example could apply to small business owner who wants to create training videos in both MPEG2 for DVD and 720x480 resolution using DivX for YouTube.
