INTRODUCTION   A name synonymous with Beer in India - Kingfisher stands for  excitement, youth and camaraderie.   The largest selling Beer in India   Commanding a 34% market share in the country   One out of every 4 bottles of beer sold every second in India   Available in 52 countries across the globe  Since the launch, Kingfisher Beer has become one of the largest selling beer brands in the world.   "It's flying" and the mood is upbeat - both within the Company and among consumers
history It all began with 5 breweries in South India. The oldest of which, Castle Breweries, dated back to 1857. United Breweries, as these breweries were named in 1915 has come a very long way.  Soon afterwards, the sight of bullock carts carrying huge barrels or 'Hog's heads' containing beer became a household sight. These carts wheeled their way to the customers, including British troops, living in and around Madras, Bangalore and the Nilgiris. Almost immediately, the brew from UB became a favourite, especially with the British troops. So began the history of Beer in India. And the history of Beer Division of United Breweries!!! The company was bought by late Mr. VittalMallya in 1947, and since then has never looked back. Today each one of the 32,000 Beer outlets in India sells one brand or the other from United Breweries

Quality assurance The Quality Assurance Plan is implemented as an integral component of the Kingfisher  infrastructure is inherent in our corporate culture.
Quality benchmarks & reviews Specific QA Plans  reflects customer product and services performance benchmarks in areas including cost, schedule, technical and program management requirements. The results of the  findings will be scheduled and reviewed internally and with the customers. Indication of the need for remedial action will result in an immediate response by Kingfisher  and will be reported to the customer
Maintenance of Quality The Generic QA plan is the responsibility of The Kingfisher Systems Quality Assurance Manager. Issues or changes requested or required to the Generic QA  Plan must be brought to the attention of the Corporate QA Manager for consideration and disposition.  Implementation, maintenance and promulgation of Specific QA Plans is the responsibility of the cognizant Director, Program Manager or Task Manager, as appropriate.
Training , mentoring & coaching Maintaining a Corporate Culture dedicated to Quality Assurance requires that each and every employee understand our commitment to Quality Assurance as espoused in our QA Plan, and aspire to the highest levels of quality in our products and services.  They regularly sponsor the employees’ attendance at formal training courses and seminars to bring them the latest Quality Assurance concepts applicable to the processes and the customers’ needs. New employees or employees requiring reinforcement of Quality Assurance Standards will be assigned a senior mentor to guide and instill the principles of the Quality Assurance Principles and QA Plan.
Problem avoidance A Problem Avoidance Plan will be developed to support each specific Quality Assurance Plan. In addition to the Reporting and Metrics discussed earlier, the Problem Avoidance Plan will identify critical product and service points of contact  at Kingfisher Systems (including subcontractors and consultants as appropriate), and related interfaces and points of contact in the customer's organization.
