Forensic nurses bridge a gap between patient
and police by providing compassionate patient
care while collecting and documenting evidence
in ways that will be useful to police and
prosecutors. Forensic nurses work with victims of
negligence, abuse, violent crimes including
sexual assault, and other crimes such as human
trafficking. Forensic nurses with advanced
education may choose to become death
investigators, legal nurse consultants and any of
several other specialties in forensic nursing.
