E learning strategy
1. Strategy and plans for e-learning at<br />Sultan Qaboos University<br />The strategy of implementing e-learning in all SQU planed in 2006 which include many steps. First, the policy of this plan is to support e-learning and adopt its techniques to meet the academic development in the future. Second, its goals are to create e-learning courses with supporting the faculty with the excellent way of using this technology. It aims also, to create collaborative and communicative projects among Oman and gulf universities. Third, the objectives of this strategy are to develop student centered e-courses in each college in SQU to provide student with long life skills. In addition, provide Faculty/Staff Support, infrastructure development and other developments .Forth, is the methods of how the strategy affects faculty and staff and how to adapt the e-courses. Fifth, is the implementation of the strategy by describing each objective, how to achieve it and the date of implementing. Sixth, monitoring the implementation and report the events. Seventh, it presents the evaluating of overall all the strategy which is done every two years by CET, Educational Services, and College of Education. Finally, the required resources that are needed to implement this strategy like Human Resources, infrastructure resources, Digital Library, administrative supports and finical resources. At the end this strategy is failed because the SQU is prepared for face-to-face learning. To implement this strategy we need to increase the number of students and resources at SQU. Also, I think we can also utilize the university buildings to collect the necessary resources that support e-learning.<br />*Evidence<br />Reading8<br />
