1. What have you learnt about
technologies from contrasting your
products?
By Tuesday Rowlands
2. What websites have you learnt to use
and helped you along the way?
Blogger:
Blogger has helped me a lot throughout the
whole journey of completing my music
magazine. At first, I hadn’t ever heard of the
website and I wasn’t sure how to use it but the
more I used it the easier it was to understand. I
needed to use blogger to present and store all of
my new work and ideas. It helped me a lot to
keep organised and up to date as through
Blogger, I knew where I was up to and what
more I had left to do.
3. Slideshare
At first, like Blogger I hadn’t ever heard of this
website. I found that Slideshare another helpful
website to present my work easily and
attractively.
Slideshare is a different type of media as it is like
a PowerPoint but in video form that can be put
onto your blog. This makes my blog look a lot
more interesting rather than having basic
written blogs.
4. Prezi
When I was introduced to Prezi, I hadn’t ever
heard of a website like this. Prezi was a really
helpful and easy website to use for me to
explain my ideas and work.
I liked using Prezi as it was really easy to use and
it also made my ideas look less boring than it
would with just writing them on my blog.
5. What technology did I use and what
have I learnt from it?
Adobe Indesign:
This program really helped me to create my
magazine. First off, I didn’t understand how to use it
but by practising on it everyday, I was able to really
understand it and expand my knowledge on it. As I
knew how to use the program properly, I was able
to learn more about it and do things that I didn’t
even know I could possibly do. This really helped
me to lay out the design and to find the right colour
schemes for my magazine.
6. Abode Photoshop
Before I started to use Photoshop for my
magazine, I knew how to use it but with very
basic knowledge. By designing my magazine and
editing pictures on this program, it really
expanded my knowledge on it and enabled me
to do a lot more on it that I didn’t know I could
even complete. I learnt a lot more about the
toolbar and different features that I could use to
completely transform pictures into but better
and attractive looking ones.
7. Google
I used Google the whole way through when
creating my magazine. Google enabled me to
find research and helped me expand ideas on
the ideas that I had. It also helped to teach me
about different magazine distributions and what
they do. Without Google, I wouldn't’t have been
able to learn about real-life magazines and what
conventions that every magazine should involve
and what features look the most attractive.
8. Microsoft word
Microsoft word was used throughout the
making of my magazine purely because it is an
easy program to use to write up documents and
ideas and being able to save them, and then
being able to edit them when I get back to it.
This program helped me majorly when I wanted
to type up my interview for my magazine and
also my articles. It is just a really handy program
to have and use when needing to quickly write
up my ideas.
