A group is a combination of users and the machines with some authentications to use these computers. The group is administered by the maintenance personnel who manage everything including data, machines and other such things. At the time of creating a group, there are certain limitations that are set at that time to decide who and how access will one have to a resource. This makes it very easy and effective to have such limitations so that there arises no discrepancy as there are certain authentications to each user.
There are two types of such groups that Microsoft Windows has:
• Security Group
• Distribution Group
The distribution group effectively distributes the emails as you have to send only one mail which is distributed to all users that are on this group. This group is not security conscious so it won’t send me to Discretionary Access Control Lists (DACLs).
