Albert Einstein did not speak until age two when he uttered "The soup is too hot." He was a curious but shy child who enjoyed learning from his uncle and parents. As a student, Einstein did not like memorizing lessons and was not thought likely to excel, but he had a passion for science, math, and sailing. Another turning point was meeting medical student Max Talmey, from whom Einstein received books and surpassed in knowledge of mathematics and science. By age sixteen, Einstein had started taking an interest in light and gravity.
