2. 1. A baby polar bear looks like. It has white fur and
a little bit of gray. It has a Black nose and black
eyes.
3. They eat Arctic foxes, reindeer, rodents, musk
ox, fish, seals, shellfish, eggs and seabirds such as
gulls. They have been known to eat beluga whales
and even walruses. They eat these cause they are
connivers.
4. Polar bears range throughout the circumpolar
north in areas where they can hunt seals at
open leads. The five "polar bear nations" in
which the bears are found include the U.S.
(Alaska), Canada, Russia, Denmark
(Greenland), and Norway. Contrary to popular
belief, polar bears are not found in Antarctica or
any region of the Southern Hemisphere. They
can only be found in the Arctic regions of the
Northern Hemisphere. While on this
note, polar bears do not eat penguins since they
live in the north, unlike penguins that live in
the south.
5. Polar bear have only one predator on land, other
polar bears. At sea they are attacked by killer
whales. Polar bear cubs are occasionally killed by
large male polar bears. The only mode of defense
a young polar bear has is running. At sea, a
swimming polar bear would have little defense
against even a single killer whale.
6. Female polar bears dig a cave or tunnel in the
snow or ice to give birth to their babies. The Polar
Bear hollows out a winter den in a protected
snow bank. Unlike Black and Grizzly bears, the
Polar Bear does not actually hibernate; it is merely
lethargic during the time that they spend in the
den. Females den from approximately November
to March each year, during which time they do
not eat, drink, or defecate.
