Moodle, a software program, is an online course
management system (CMS), used in educational, training
and development, and business settings.
Moodle is an abbreviation for
Modular
Object
Oriented
Dynamic
Learning
Environment
Moodle is designed for universities, primary and
secondary schools, non-profit and profit organizations.

3. What Features Does Moodle Offer?
Features that Moodle offers for learning tools
are:
1. Communication tools:
- Discussion Boards
- Chat
2. Assessment Tools:
- Create quizzes
- Upload assignments
-Reading materials
- Wikis (lecture notes and documents)
3. Video and Audio Upload
4. Feedback:
- Grades
- Tracks performance level
- Allows instructor comments

4. Perception of Tools Validity
Moodle is a great technological instructional tool to
use for distance education learners.
Not only does Moodle help instructors relay
information, it creates an online learning
environment.
Students are able to interact with one another
including the instructor just like a face to face class.
Moodle also offers many features that can contribute
to each students’ learning needs.
5. Moodle Strengths
Moodle can be installed on any computer that can
run PHP, and can support an SQL type database.
Moodle can be run on Windows and Mac operating
systems and many flavors of Linux.
Moodle is offered at low costs.
Known for easy implementation.
Consists of a variety of learning features.
Can be accessed anywhere with internet connection
at anytime.

6. Moodle Weaknesses
Not able to support a large number of users.
- The more students, the slower the system might
become.
Moodle lacks human resource systems.
- If a problem arises, it is very difficult to find help
from Moodle Technical Support.

Even though Moodle
has been primarily
used by universities,
primary, and
secondary schools,
many organizations
are now implementing
