Career Development Boards are meetings between sailors and their command leadership to provide guidance on career decisions based on Navy policies. The boards are composed of the Command Master Chief, Command Career Counselor, and other representatives. They discuss the sailor's Individual Career Development Plan, which outlines mutually agreed upon goals and a plan to achieve them. The goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Trackable. The plan serves as a physical takeaway document to assist the sailor's career progression.
