Physical properties of commercially pure titanium are characterized as follows.
u High melting point of 1.668℃ (a little higher than steel)
u Light specific gravity of 4.51 (some 60% of steel, about 1.7 times of aluminum)
u Small coefficient of thermal expansion of 8.4x10-6/K (half of 18-8 stainless steel, 1/3 of aluminum)
u Small coefficient of thermal conductivity of 17w/m.k (nearly equal to 18-8 stainless steel)
u High electrical resistance of 0.55μΩ.m (higher than pure metals except 18-8 stainless steel)
u Non-magnetic material with permeability of 1.0001
u Crystal structure: close-packed hexagonal lattice and body-centered cubic lattice below and above
transformation temperature (885℃), respectively.

2. u Small Young’s modulus of 106.3KN/mm2 (about half of steel, about 1.5 times of aluminum)
