- Jules Undersea Lodge, Florida: Located in Key Largo Florida, Jules Underwater Lodge which was
formerly a research station underwater is a resort of sorts that is available to anyone who can pay
the bills. After its use for research in the '70s, it was opened to the public as an underwater hotel or
lodging in 1986. All vacationers are required to dive into the water before getting to their room for
the night. Non-certified divers or people who do not know how to swim or dive are given a 3 hour
crash course on scuba diving. Once in the room, food is served at the hatch. The hotel has an
awesome view of the activities underwater view and is fully stocked all necessary comfort such as air
conditioning, air, multimedia entertainment, and drinks.
- Utter (Otter) Inn in Vasteras, Sweden: Located in Vasteras Sweden, the Utter Inn is a floating red
house with both a combination of art and accommodation. Consisting of just one room which is
2. submerged under the water, it makes for comfortable relaxation and is often fully booked in
advance. If you are looking for amazing and luxury, you are not likely to find it the Utter Inn as the
rooms are basically simply furnished. The building is not fully submerged. Getting into the room is
easy as you just have to climb down a ladder to get in the room. It is not as deeply situated as the
Jules lodge and is just beneath the water line. Sleeping here per night costs just $250. Guests are
transported by the means of a boat and are entitled to meals. Other attractions here include
sunbathing, canoe rowing and swimming.
- The Crescent Hydropolis of Dubai: This superb structure currently undergoing construction on the
Persian Gulf Floor in the UAE is located in Dubai and is designed to look like the jellyfish. It is stated
to be the first luxury underwater hotel in the world after its completion. The hotel will have two
hundred and twenty suites submerged under water, is 66ft under the water surface and will occupy
about twenty seven acres of land underwater. Guests will arrive by boat, or plane to an offshore
"ground station" located above water. Then, transported through the 1700ft underwater train station
to the hotel.
The best news for those of us who don't live near any of these places is that the company behind the
Crescent Hydropolis and the Qingdao project has plans to build these underwater hotels all over the
world. Plans are in place already for New York, Monaco, London, Munich, and the Isle of Man.
