8. Smartphone Growth Gartner (April 2011) estimates that 468 million smartphones will be sold in 2011 57.7 percent increase from 2010. Of those phones, 38.5 percent will be powered by the Android operating system. By 2015, 631 million smartphones will be sold, approaching half of those will be Android.
