1. Frugal Living Fridays: The First Week of August
The wonderful thing about frugal living is that you can find and learn new ways to save
money virtually every single day, your whole lifelong. This week, it seemed I learned a
number of little tidbits of information, all very beneficial for frugal living, that can all be
turned into great money saving tips for anyone’s frugal living goals.
When it comes to cars, for example, did you know that even a small difference in MPG
(like 5 mpg) can add up to big savings in gas each year? The next time you’re in the
market to buy a car, remember that the best vehicles for frugal living are the ones with
the absolute best miles per gallon rating.
Then, at the grocery store, did you know that the most expensive food products are
typically placed right at eye level on the shelves? Makes perfect sense because the
manufacturers pay more for this prime location. So, it also makes perfect sense for you to
look above and below on the shelves, for the cheaper food items, if you want to meet
your food goals in frugal living.
When it comes to frugal living and ways to save water, this week’s money saving tip was
more of a friendly reminder then it was a new bit of information. If you’re serious about
frugal living then prevention, in all areas of your home, are key. So, take the time to show
every member of your family where the main water shut off is. In the event that a pipe
breaks, you can avoid spending a lot of money on flood damage clean-up or blowing your
frugal living budget on your water bill that month.
And, no Frugal Living Friday report would be complete without another frugal living
friendly natural remedy. Seeing as though it’s hot and humid in these parts, this week’s
frugal living tip for health is using either cool chamomile tea topically or a paste of
baking soda and water to cure heat rash. Brilliant!
Stay tuned next week. You never know what else we’ll come up with that can help you in
all of your frugal living endeavours.
