Forum providing information to new Microsoft users in the areas of network login, password requirements, network drives, and new MS Office 2007 applications.

2. IT Services is currently migrating each department over to the new Microsoft network in phases. After each department is migrated, a help desk representative will follow up visitation to the specific department that was recently migrated to ensure 1) login, 2) network drive access, and 3) GroupWise access . Related Microsoft training (including MS Office 2007, Outlook 2007) will be offered as well, increasing in frequency half way throughout the phased migration. Throughout the migration, users should contact the IT Help Desk (ext. 5199 or helpdesk@ciu.edu) for all questions, issues, or concerns.

Microsoft Migration Be Mindful That User Shortcuts May Change With Migrated Departments Shortcuts on users’ desktop or other areas may or may not work (if items point to J:, shortcuts they should still work, however due to level of customization, some shortcuts may not work especially those that point to network drives that no longer exists such as K: The Help Desk is available to help users with renaming their shortcuts if needed.
