Self Reflection Checklist
My essay is clearly organized and has a strong thesis.
My paper is organized around my thesis. I don’t go off topic and all my
explanations have to do with my thesis.
My essay is logical and my sentences are well connected. It is easy to
follow my train of thought.
I have specific examples that add substance to my paper.
My essay is unique and thoughtful.
My essay is broken up into paragraphs that follow my thesis.
I have good transition sentences.
Sentences are purposeful, varied, and well-controlled. I did very well with
spelling, capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and usage.
I used strong vocabulary words correctly.
I have a good conclusion that summarizes my ideas in different words. It
does not just repeat my introduction or thesis.
It is clear that I wrote an expository essay that is explaining something or
giving information. It is not a personal story.
