2. Background
Mr. Lomas has done a research unit every year, but this
year he would like to give the kids an opportunity to
research and make a multimedia presentation to address
the above TEKS. The students will conduct online
research to gather information on an animal assigned to
them. They will have a research packet with a skeleton
outline that they will need to fill in the information as they
gather it. The students will then transfer their information
from their outline into a multimedia presentation. Mr.
Lomas’s goal is to introduce the students to online
research methods, gathering and analyzing the
information, and presenting it to an audience using
multimedia tools.
3. Available Technologies
Appropriate drivers, plug-ins, interfaces, web browsers and operating software for available hardware
are already correctly installed on all classroom computers. A computer lab with Internet
accessibility and networked printers are available. Also, 25 wireless notebook computers with
Internet access are available for check out.
