Title : Verbal Bully

3. In common cases, verbal bullying usually happens among the girl as girl are more
subtle and use it to dominate others and show their superiority and power. However, there are
also many boys who use verbal techniques for domination. The most suitable research
method in this case is naturalistic observation as it enables researchers to identify behavioural
patterns within the naturalistic contexts at the time, thus, the social validity of these systems
is often a strength that adds to external validity and have the opportunity to record in detail
data that describe central and peripheral roles and also the social and physical contexts of
episodes. Example of verbal bully includes accusing and blaming, judging and criticizing,
threatening, teasing and etc.
After reading many news articles about smaller size student get more verbal bully,
people may judge that the smallest size student among a group of students have the highest
intensity to get verbal bully. This scenario happens because people tend to think of the easier
and recent examples of similar event based on what they knew such as having a friend who
get verbal bully recently and his/her body size is small. However, it is not true as people also
tends to tease on people who is bigger in size as fat, have obesity or unhealthy thus laughing
at them. The reason we assumed that smaller size student get bully easier is because the
events are easier to call to mind than older events that we had long forgotten and events
which are more frequent to hear are easier to be remembered. Thus, this scenario is known as
availability heuristic.
