to your advantage. Be real and genuine,
and great things will happen.
 Find your niche – don’t be afraid to
make mistakes.
 Have fun and be YOU.


6. Practice Applications
Consider starting a blog if you want to
practice writing, maybe volunteer to
write newsletters.
 Write a professional twitter Bio and
network. Join in with #Rdchat
#foodiechats, and connect with students
using #Rs2be
 Approach RD’s you admire in your
desired field and see if they will mentor
you.


Join a DPG: Nutrition Entrepreneurs for
example.
 Surround yourself with people who see
the best in you and encourage and uplift
you.


Obtaining an internship in this competitive landscape can be
difficult these days. The student internship fair, hosted by NDEP,
is designed to help students meet and network with dietetic
internship directors from all over the United States. Over 100
internships will have faculty and/or interns available to discuss
their program and admission criteria, and to distribute program
handouts or brochures. Come prepared with your questions and
bring your resume and/or business cards to leave with the
