• There are 99 people altogether. 81 students
and 18 adults/teachers. It cost $5.30 each
person. It cost $524.70 altogether
(524.70/99=5.30).
• How many busses will we be needing? We will
be needing about 3 busses because there are
99 people altogether and about 40 people can
sit in a bus and so 80 people will fit in 2 busses
and the rest 19 people will go in the 3rd bus.
11. Zoo Cost
• The zoo entrance was $11 each for children's
and $22 dollars each for adults. For 81
children the total cost was $891 (11x81=891).
For 18 adults it cost $396 (22x18=396). So the
total cost was $1287 (396+891=1287).
14. When will we leave and
arrive.
• We will be leaving school at 9:30 am and
arriving at 9:55 am. We will leave the
Auckland Zoo at 1:30 pm and arrive at 1:55
pm.

• At 10:10 am we will go to a special room in
the Auckland Zoo and we will do a
educational talk for about 15 minutes.

A blue ducks Maori name is Whio.
It is a unique threatened species of waterfowl endemic to
New Zealand.
