Everyday fluctuation in copper and zinc prices.
Copper is traded as a commodity in the metal exchange and hence its price is very volatile. Several
factors lead to this high volatility which include, dwindling supply of the metal, economic stability,
increase in consumption, usage in electric and electrical components, etc. Also, the futures contract
for copper is traded at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) through its Commodity
Exchange (COMEX) division and London Metal Exchange (LME).
Whatever the factors be, it directly affects the production costs during manufacturing . Hence its a
skill to be able to predict trends and buy the raw material for production.
