2. About Brazil
Brazil, officially the Federative Republic
of Brazil, is the largest country in South
America and in the Latin America region.
It is the world's fifth largest country,
both by geographical area and by
population with over 193 million people.
It is the largest Lusophone country in
the world, and the only one in the
Americas.
Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the
east, Brazil has a coastline of 7,491 km
(4,655 mi). It is bordered on the north by Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname
and the French overseas region of French Guiana; on the northwest by
Colombia; on the west by Bolivia and Peru; on the southwest by Argentina
and Paraguay and on the south by Uruguay. Numerous archipelagos form
part of Brazilian territory, such as Fernando de Noronha, Rocas Atoll, Saint
Peter and Paul Rocks, and Trindade and Martim Vaz. It borders all other
South American countries except Ecuador and Chile. Its current
Constitution, formulated in 1988, defines Brazil as a Federal Republic.[13]
The Federation is formed by the union of the Federal District, the 26
States, and the 5,564 Municipalities.
The Brazilian economy is the world's sixth largest by nominal GDP and the
seventh largest by purchasing power parity (as of 2011). Brazil is one of
the world's fastest growing major economies. Economic reforms have
given the country new international recognition. Brazil is also one of the
17 Megadiverse countries, home to diverse wildlife, natural environments,
and extensive natural resources in a variety of protected habitats. With a
confirmed presence of 67 isolated tribes by the Fundação Nacional do
Índio, Brazil has the world's greatest number of uncontacted peoples.
3. Type of Visa
All foreign nationals are required to have entry visas do travel to Brazil. A
visa for Brazil is a document, permitting
stay in Brazil for a specific period of time.
There are two types of visa for Corporate
AIESEC Internships:
Vitem IV – student visa
Vitem V – work visa
The most important document to present to Brazilians authorities is the
valid passport with the Brazilian visa. The procedures for the passport will
change depending of the trainee country.
Once in Brazil, the trainee have to present himself to Brazilian authorities.
In maximum 30 days, the trainee must go to Federal Police and show his
Visa, his entry day and documents to have his RNE (Brazilian ID for
foreign).
For foreign who comes from Angola, Benin, Bolivia, Cameroun, Colombia,
Equador, Gana, Peru and Venezuela is required to have certificate of
Yellow Fever Vaccine. For those who will stay in Amazonas, Distrito
Federal, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará,
Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantis the vaccine is preferred.
The documents for the different kinds of visa change depending
of the trainee country, diplomatic relations of the countries. It
is important that the trainee contact the Brazilian Embassy and
check the required documents for the visa procedure.
4. VITEM IV – RN88
The most used Visa for Corporate Internships in Brazil. This is a temporary
visa for Students work in Brazil in intern conditions. The exchange student
will be enrolled in a Brazilian University and will attend the internship
classes. Also, the exchange student must be a student in his origin country
and attest it for the Brazilian embassy.
During: up to one year, renewable only one time for the same period (ex.
3 months visa can be renewable for only more 3 months). The extension
depends on the documents of the traineeship and must be submitted 30
days before the expiration of the visa. While the analysis is pending the
foreign is authorized to remain in the country in the same condition it was
in when the validity of the visa.
Documents
Termo de Compromisso de Estágio – document attesting the
registration with the Brazilian university. This document must be
signed by the University,
TN Taker and Trainee.
5. Invitation letter from Brazilian LC.
Document (Invitation Letter, Commitment Letter) from the TN Taker
with company CNPJ.
All this documents must be originals and have government stamps. The
Brazilian LC is responsible to send all this documents to the trainee.
The trainee will present the follow documents on the embassy:
Visa form filled out and signed with a passport size photo
Valid passport showing at least six months valid
Copy of round –trip flight ticket or e-ticket
Proof of financial ability to support oneself
6. Non-criminal record (issued within 90 days of the visa application
date)
Visa fee (around U$160,00)
INPG Partnership
For the Local Comities who doesn’t have partnership with Local
Universities, AIESEC in Brazil set a partnership with INPG. They do all the
documents for the Visa procedure. The LC has to send:
Intern plan – document describing the job that the trainee will
realize in the company.
Student CV
CV of the supervisor on the company – guarantee that the
supervisor have academic background.
INPG charges R$180,00 per document signed. The delivery time for the
documents is around 10 days.
On the first month and on the end of the internship the trainee has to
send a document attesting that he is following the Intern Plan for INPG.
This document will guarantee the continuity of the partnership and also is
important in case of renewable of the visa.
VITEM V – RN94
Temporary visa for graduated students. The trainee will have the same
status as a Brazilian worker and will have a contract with the company.
This Visa will be required by the company with AIESEC support in Brazil for
the Minister of International Affairs and Minister of Work.
The process will take more than 3 months.
Duration: one year. Not renewable.
7. Documents:
Form requiring authorization for work in Brazil.
Form from the company and foreign.
Contract or Social Statute from the company registered on the Junta
Comercial or in Cartório de Registro Civil.
Document of the election of the company legal representative
registered in Junta Comercial or in Cartório de Registro Civil.
Copy from the CNPJ.
Document where the company attest responsibility for all medical
costs of the foreign during the internship.
Document attesting the graduation of the trainee.
Work contract for limited time (2 years maximum).
Address from the local of work.
All documents that are not from Brazil must be translated for Portuguese
and stamped in a Brazilian Embassy.
