The International Space Station (ISS) is mainly powered by solar panels. Construction began in 1998 with the Zarya module and functions include battery power, fuel storage, and docking capabilities. While expansion is ongoing, in 2007 the ISS mass was 300,214 kg with a length of 58.2 m, width of 44.5 m, and height of 27.4 m. Its solar arrays span 73.15 m.
