2. Newsletter Publication
At the Day Care and Child Development Council
of Tompkins County, inc., now known as the
Child Development Council, I helped produce
the bi-monthly 10 page agency
communiqué, Network News (full copy of my
final issue circulating). The newsletter is also
available online at
http://www.daycarecouncil.org. It is now
produced only quarterly and online viewing is
encouraged.
3. Empire State College
I am enrolled in SUNY Empire State College
Center for Distance Learning. In order to
expedite completion of a Bachelor of Science
degree in Media Communication, much of my
past work experience has been granted
college level credit. I used a newsletter format
to convey personal information to the faculty
evaluating my requests for these credits.
4. AALAT Certification
I achieved certification as an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician through
the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science in October 2008.
Though physical restrictions prevent me from performing the physically
intensive duties of animal husbandry, I learned valuable information about
the USDA and NSF rules and regulations for funding and for humane care of
animals in a research setting.
Having worked with the USDA funded Child and Adult Care Food Program
(CACFP) at the Child Care Council, I am familiar with the type of data and
outcomes these agencies are interested in receiving.
8. Community Outreach
I have been involved in documenting
many community events through video
productions and online blogging.
Examples of video produced using Adobe
Premier, see

I also use Inscriber at the Time Warner
Cable PEGASYS studio to layout rolling
titles for a weekly television series, No
Idea, that is mixed live in the television
studio – frequently with live talent.
