How to Use Hootsuite?

What is
HOOTSUITE?

 It is a social media
management system that
supports social network
integrations.

 It brings all your favourite social
media platforms together in one place
thus, allowing you to view feeds and do
updates more efficiently.

Why should you
start using
HOOTSUITE?

Hootsuite’s
FREE PLAN
allows you to:

 Manage 5 social networks
including: Twitter, Facebook,
Linkedin,Foursquare,Wordpress.
com and more.

 Personalize
your view with
tabs.

 Follow conversations
based on relevant
keywords.

Schedule messages
for upcoming events.

Post images to
Facebook pages and
profiles.

Auto-publish updates
from your blog.

features that are

In your browser, type www.hootsuite.com

Log in to HOOTSUITE if
you already have
an account,
otherwise, sign up
to create an account.

2 Ways to create an
account:
1. Click to
sign up
using
facebook.

2. Or sign up
using your email
address. To do
this, supply your
email address,
full name and
password.

For now, we will sign up
using a facebook account.
Click to
sign up
using
facebook.

Click OKAY in the next screen
to allow Hootsuite to access
your Facebook data at any time.

your friends on your behalf.

and manage your facebook pages.

Voila! You have just added
your Facebook social network.

You’ll notice that it has columns
already. These are the default
columns created. You are able to
add or remove streams or columns
as you wish.

ACCOUNT?

To add another social network,

Click to add another
social network.

Choose the social network to
add from among the list on the
left side of the window.

For this tutorial, we are going to
add the Twitter account.

Click the check box below if you
want to follow Hootsuite on
Twitter for any updates.

Click the button “Connect with
Twitter”.

To authorize Hootsuite to access
your twitter account ...

... enter your Twitter username or
email and password. Twitter will
not be able to see your password.

Click AUTHORIZE APP.

Click to add another tab.

Click to choose the new social
network you want to appear in the
tab created.

Click and enter desired
name for the tab.

To be able to monitor several
sections of Twitter in one
window, you need to add
your preferred twitter
contents as streams to the
dashboard.

Click “Add a stream”.

Click to select the profile that
will stream content in Hootsuite.

Click plus icon to add stream.

 The types of streams will depend
on the social network you’ve
selected.
 The process of adding a stream
can be repeated multiple times.
PLEASE NOTE!

Click to adjust how many streams
you want to view at one time.

To track and monitor a keyword
or phrase from Twitter, click the
house (streams) icon.

Click KEYWORD tab.

Type the keyword or phrase you
would like to track. Click Add.

You can add up to a
maximum of three.

Click Add Stream.

A new column is added on
the Twitter tab.

You can now follow
the conversations
based on the
keywords you’ve
added.

Do you wish to SCHEDULE
MESSAGES to take
advantage of proper
timing and avoid delayed
delivery?

Click to select the profile
that will post your message.

You can select more
than one profile and
your message will be
sent to them
simultaneously.

Click compose
message.

Type the message and
click the calendar icon
to schedule message.

Click to select a date
and set the time.

Click to receive an email
when message is sent.

Click schedule.

In Twitter, you are able to see the
scheduled message in the Scheduled
Tweets column. Add this Twitter content
if you don’t have it yet in your Twitter tab.
