3. Beep! Beep! Beep! goes my alarm. It
is 5am. Butterflies are fluttering in
my tummy as I am feeling excited - and
also scared because today I am going in a
hot air balloon. Quickly I get dressed and
have something to eat.
Off we go...
4. ... we arrive at the BIG flat field. We
see the hot air balloon lying flat on the
ground and the basket was on its side.
5. WOOSH we heard a LOUD noise and we
saw yellow flames and the balloon started
to wobble like jelly as the hot air began to
inflate it. The balloon was beginning to lift
6. off the ground as it began to rise slowly
into the air. Soon it was as big as a tall
building. Now we can carefully
climb into the huge basket. We
are ready. The men let go of
the ropes and WOOSH we
begin to rise slowly...

7. .....through the air, across the Australian Help!
bush. As we looked down we
saw a kangaroo. She bounced up
high and she cried "Help!, I've
lost my baby, have you seen it?", "No"
we said, "but we will help you find it,
what is it's name?". His name is "Joey".
"Hop in and we will all go and look for
8. him" We flew off across the bush. We
made LOST posters and dropped
them from the balloon. Then we
waited for the phone to ring....

9. At 5pm on Tuesday we heard
brrrring, brrrrring, brrrrrring,
brrrrring. We answered the
phone, "I have been reading your
poster. I think I have found your
Joey!", said Tom, the Bushman.
We screamed a happy scream.
"Is he OK?” we said. The
10. Bushman said, "Yes, he's OK now but at
first he was very hungry."
"Thank you for feeding him. Where do you
live?"
"In a green treehouse, in Red
Bush, by the river." We
jumped back into the hot air balloon .....

11. …..right up to the fluffy clouds...we
floated in the air through the blue sky to
Tom the Bushman's house. We floated
down to the ground, Mother Kangaroo
jumped out and hopped up to
the door and banged on it.
"Can I please have my Joey back?" she
cried.
12. "Yes you can!" said the Bushman in a
strong voice.
The Joey bounced to his Mum
and climbed into her pouch. They
said, "Thank you" to the bushman
and hopped off home to live
happily ever after.
13. We lifted off in our hot air
balloon and floated home.
We had such an amazing
adventure!
Maybe there will be another one just
around the corner.
