In August 2010, the Ministry for Environment &
Forests turned down the proposal of Vedanta
Resources to mine bauxite from the Niyamgiri Hill in
Orissa. This ended five years of protests by the
indigenous Dongria Kondh tribe to protect the hill,
which they believe to be sacred. During some of
these protests, supporters of the Dongria Kondhs
referred to them as ‘the real ________ tribe’,
thereby borrowing a term from popular culture.

‘X’ is an American hard rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1985.
The band coined its name by combining two of the group members' names.
After only a short time, during which they reportedly played just two or
three shows, the lead guitarist of the band was replaced by ‘Y’ due to his lack
of attendance at reharsals. In June 1985, just four days after the lineup was
finalized, the band embarked on a short, disorganized tour of the West
Coast, from Sacramento, California to Seattle, Washington. The so-called
"Hell Tour" cemented the band's first stable lineup. The year after its release
‘X’s’ debut album reached No.1 on Billboard 200.The band has released six
studio albums, accumulating sales of more than 100 million albums
worldwide, including shipments of 45 million in the United States.
On February 6, 2009, Axl gave his first interview in nine years when he sat
down with Billboard's Jonathan Cohen. Axl said that there was no chance
that he would ever agree with a reunion with ’Y’ : ” What's clear is that one
of the two of us will die before a reunion and however sad, ugly or
unfortunate anyone views it, it is how it is. Those decisions were made a long
time ago and reiterated year after year by one man”

“This is how we think about our IPO as well. We're
going public for our employees and our investors. We
made a commitment to them when we gave them
equity that we'd work hard to make it worth a lot and
make it liquid, and this IPO is fulfilling our
commitment. As we become a public company, we're
making a similar commitment to our new investors
and we will work just as hard to fulfill it.”

‘X’, India's second largest bike maker, finally unveiled its
first four-wheeler, a low-emission car – ‘Y’ on the eve of
the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi.
The company, which had in 2008 showcased a concept
small car but decided not to go ahead with the project.
High fuel efficiency and lower emissions are the key factors
on which the company is banking on to make its foray into
the car segment a success. The company expects a big
growth opportunity by targeting the three wheeler
segment.
The ‘Y’, according to ‘X’ has high fuel-efficiency ratios. ‘X’
claims that this vehicle has hit 40kmpl under test
conditions and a realistic mileage in daily driving conditions
should be above 35kmpl. The 200cc rear-mounted engine's
emissions will be an incredible 60g of CO2 per km.

Opened in 1884, X was originally owned by
friend of John Houlding, a member of club Y. Y, who previously played at Priory
Road, were in need of a new venue owing to the noise produced by the crowd on match
days. Orrell lent the pitch to the club in exchange for a small rent. The first match at the
ground was between Y and Earlestown on 28 September 1884, which Y won 5–0.
During Y’s tenure at the stadium, stands were erected for some of the 8,000-plus
spectators regularly attending matches, although the ground was capable of holding
around 20,000 spectators and occasionally did. The ground was considered of
international standard at the time, playing host to the British Home Championship match
between England and Ireland in 1889. X’s first league match was played on 8
September 1888, between Y and Accrington F.C . Y quickly improved as a team, and
became X’s first league champions in the 1890–91 season.
The "THIS IS X" sign above the tunnel to the pitch at X was installed by former
manager Bill Shankly to instil fear into the opposition.
In 1892, negotiations to purchase the land at X from Orrell escalated into a dispute
between Houlding and the Y committee over how the club was run. Events culminated in
Y’s move to its current home stadium. Houlding was left with an empty stadium, and
decided to form a new club to occupy it. The new team was called Z F.C. and Athletic
Grounds Ltd, and the club's first match at X was a friendly played in front of 200 people
on 1 September 1892, against Rotherham Town. Z won 7–1.
