Mageia1 free DVD includes five desktops available for installation. This presentation explores some basic graphical user interface installation options.

6. Both KDE and GNOME can be installed as a desktops or as workstations.

7. There is a possibility to install task-gnome-minimal package. It has similar to GNOME Workstation outlook but smaller installation size.

10. IceWM-light is installed by default with every desktop installation however the smallest Mageia1 installation installs IceWM only.
