Studying hard can sometimes frustrate you to a point where you just want to give
up. The way I choose to handle this situation is to schedule a time to study responsibly
and when to know when to stop. Over studying can sometimes jam up too much
information to my brain. Choosing the right place to study and the right people is very
important. I like to handle it by being alone and fully concentrating on what needs to be
done. Distractions sometimes interfere with my chain of thoughts; which then makes me
forget answers. The memory technique I try to resist is using songs or rhymes. I
sometimes get into the song and end up wondering off in space. This causes me to not
really pay full attention to my work, and that’s when my work starts looking bad. I just
feel it doesn’t go with what I’m trying to write about. I love music but it doesn’t go well
with me during writing a paper or helping me to memorize something. I like to relax and
have peace and quiet. For some reason I feel I work better when I have a snack by my
side. I guess it’s like a comfort feeling I get that motivates me to want to finish up my
paper or get a good grade. Norton’s story in chapter 7 showed me that with help from
others anyone can do the impossible. People are always going to be there to guide in a
direction where you thought was too difficult. With hard effort and help you could
become who you want to be and go where ever you please. Learning from the study
strategies and memory I can say that you really need to put effort into your study so that
your mind gathers the information correctly. Depending on what type of strategy you
use, there is not a wrong one as long as it helps you improve.
