O Center for Disease Control and Prevention in
  2011, estimated one out of five children are
  either overweight or have become obese.




O One-third of America’s children are at risk of
  becoming overweight or obese.
Statistical Research
O In 2011 the United States Department of Agriculture
  collected data proving three-quarters of Americans
  need to change their diet.
O According to the 2010 National Dairy Council
  adolescents between 9th and 12th grades only
  consume three servings of milk daily.

O One-fifth of students between 9th and 12th grades eat
  at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily.


O Only two percent of school age students eat the
  recommended number of servings daily from
  all food groups.
Making Nutritious Changes
 O Eat three nutritious balanced meals each
   day from each basic food group.
 O Foods need to be nutrient-rich in vitamins,
   minerals, having few calories.
 O Breakfast is the most important meal of the
   day.
 O Daily physical exercise.
Making Dietary Changes
O Eating nutritious foods are essential to one’s
  physical heath and cognitive ability.
O It is important that you understand how to
  change your eating habits and begin eating
  nutritious foods.
Nutritious Diet Guidelines
O Education about amounts of calorie intake,
  carbohydrates, sugars, and fats.

O Select foods from each basic food groups.




O Appropriate daily consumption of water.
Conclusion
O A healthy diet is the foundation of a healthy
    lifestyle.
O   Nutritious foods come from all basic food
    groups.
O   Daily physical exercise is essential.
O   Negative health problems or issues are less
    likely to occur.
O   Remember, everyday ask yourself am I
    eating nutritious food and are my dietary
    choices good ones?
